A newsletter with a festive touch. Not because we have something special to celebrate, but because we had a great company party!

We urgently needed new photos for our website, especially now that the team has expanded and we plan to add a number of new functions to the website in the future. We used this excuse to invite everyone for a drink, workshop and photo shoot. In this newsletter, of course, some nice shots of the day. The other photos will be soon available on the website.

In addition to this cheerfulness, there are also serious items in the newsletter. We have new final test terms, there is a new handbook, the exams are in the new lay-out and once again the call from the secure browser.

New final test terms (eindtoetstermen)

Since 2022, the SSVV has been working on a new direction within the examination system. They have chosen to move all information and documents to www.ssvv.nl.

You can find a lot of information about the VCA exams on the page https://www.ssvv.nl/opleiding/vca-examens. Everything for the SOG is on the link https://www.ssvv.nl/opleiding/sog-petrochemie.

In addition, the Central Examination Board VCA (CEV) adopted the annual update on April 24, 2023. There are only minor changes. The accompanying documents can be found via the download section on the page https://www.ssvv.nl/opleiding/vca-examens.

Handbook Version 8

The exam leaders always have a handbook with them during the exams. The handbook contains, among other things, the exam rules and set-ups. If a discussion arises at a location about which setup is correct, the manual provides the answer.

Due to the new layout of the exam, the handbook also had to be adapted. We are happy that it is now up to date again. You can always ask the exam leader to view the handbook.

 

The exams in a new lay-out!

The new lay-out was launched at the beginning of this year. In this newsletter we discuss our experience with it. Of course, the exam candidates do not know the earlier version, but we can see from the way the candidates use the exam that this version is more user-friendly. They go through the grade schedule more smoothly. The function to convert the image black and white or white and black is often used. The box for marking now requires a bit more explanation, because the term ‘mark to’ is no longer registered.

The famous yellow button is gone! That has now become just a blue button. Fortunately, this only appears when the candidate has completed all the questions and the candidates wait neatly before closing until an exam leader is standing next to them.

We are satisfied with this new layout, although they still have to translate the ‘close test’ button to other languages. Now every foreign exam is marked in Dutch with ’toets afsluiten.

Team expansion

You are of course waiting for this item, because in the introduction of this newsletter we announce that we have team expansion. We currently have two nice ladies walking around who are being trained and hopefully will continue to strengthen our team. When their trial period is over, we’re going to introduce them to you in full. By the way, you will soon see all exam leaders and office employees with a beautiful photo and personal quote on our renewed website.

Party at Ascend exam group B.V.

Petra thought it was time for a party. In recent years we had spontaneous drinks, but this time it turned out big. The afternoon started with a photo shoot by Meraki Foto. Madelon managed to put everyone at ease. We were able to take great individual photos and a smiling shoot of our the entire team. You will see the results on our social media (Instagram, LinkedIn and Facebook) and on the website in the near future.

After the photo shoot there was time for a snack and a drink, provided by two ladies from our own team. They had decorated it very festively and the snacks were delicious.

With full bellies, the patience of the team was then tested during Limoentje’s macrame workshop. We made macramed a beautiful flower pot holder. It did result in many hilarious moments and ultimately resulted in a wonderfully beautiful flower pot holder. Everyone has given the flowerpot holder a place in their homes.

IMPORTANT! Secure Browser

There are still companies that have not installed the latest version of the Secure Browser. This applies to companies that supply the laptops for the SOG exam themselves. Often we only find out just before the exam and that is not convenient.

We emphasize again that the latest version 6.1.27 must be on it. The SSVV will monitor more strictly that the latest version is used. There is a chance that you will not be able to take a theory exam during the SOG in an older version. We will not issue the exam again if you cannot take the exam due to an outdated version. The costs are for the applicant.
